2024 Practice Start Dates

— February 11, 2024 —

Youth practice start date will be Monday, March 4, 2024 with the youth girls at 3:45 pm at the pier.
Practice days are Monday and Wednesday, with Friday.
Schedule for youths:
Monday and Wednesday for the youth ladies with eventual Friday practice concentrating on mixed crews  - 12 mix and 18 mix.
Tuesday and Thursday for the youth men with eventual Friday practice concentrating on mixed crews. Also planning on Saturday for youth boys 8:30 am - TBA.
Also plan on doing pre-season long distance races up in Waikoloa and Kawaihae with adult program.

Women's program will also commence on Monday, March 4, 2024 at 5:30 pm on the water.
Men will start on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 5:30 pm.
Schedule for adults:
Women - Monday and Wednesday at 5:30 pm on the water.
Men - Tuesday and Thursday at 5:30 on the water.
Friday practices to concentrate on mixed crews - 40 and open mix.
Possible Saturday or Sunday long distance practices for both groups in anticipation for Waikoloa and Kawaihae pre-season long distance races.

REMINDER: Member sign-up on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024 from 9 am - 12 pm at the Kai 'Opua Canoe Halau at Old A.
Youths - never paddled before need to bring parent/guardian, proof of age (passport, Birth Certificate etc).
Adults - new paddlers - never paddled in a HCRA sanctioned race needs proof of age - passport, license, birth certificate etc
Youth dues are waived for 2024.
Adults dues are $200.00 and additional $10 for HCRA membership for new paddlers and those whose HCRA membership has expired - every 3 years.
