Clean up at the OK Corral

— October 17, 2020 —

Well, actually the canoe corral at Kamakahonu. is definitely OK now!!!!!

Aloha all!
That was, in Cheryl's words...EPIC! I was at the corral yesterday after work to do 30 min of leaf blowing....hoping to clear the areas around the canoes/etc so you could see where you would be placing your feet this morning. I was a little dismayed seeing the scope of work and I had a feeling we wouldn't be able to clear and clean in the two hours we had scheduled. But you guys were super volunteers. We were pretty much done at 10:40....ready to load canoes on the trailer when it arrived. We had a good representation across the board from our members, Rec members and Charlie arranged for the young men from Team Big Island Waa to show up when we needed them most!
Mahalo to Apryl for expediting a dumpster delivery from Pacific Waste. That was a godsend. Thank you to Doug and Cheryl for hauling trash with your trucks.
I'm stoked I'm not the only one who likes to prune trees....they look great (Scheeze....I have no idea how many bags of leaves, green waste and trash we filled. And we got lots of awkward hard objects out of the corral. YAY!

Super job everyone! It was very gratifying and fun to work together to get this done....Pride of Place!!!!!
