Good news for the Queen’s Race weekend! The National Weather Service has cancelled the Hurricane Watch for the Island of Hawaii. Race officials, however, will stay in touch with Civil Defense and the National Weather Service as they continue to track the storm. Have a great race and see you on the water!

This year, the Queen Liliuokalani Race is excited that we have teamed up with the innovative products and services company, DotVision, to bring you live tracking of Saturday’s races. DotVision Motion is a real-time geolocation platform for sporting events. You will be able to track your favorite crews and events LIVE. You will also be able to check each competitors' statistics, such as their speed, course, placement and more. Are you on the other side of the world and you missed an event? It's all good! You can replay the entire competition, as if you were there.

Saturday’s Women’s, Men’s and Mixed races will be tracked on Dotvision’s website so you can see where all canoes are on the course. CLICK HERE FOR THE DIRECT LINKS TO THE LIVE TRACKING

New this year, we are adding Mixed Open and Mixed 40's+ events for Saturday. We are limiting the number of canoes we can lend out in this class to 10 (ten) each. NOTE - We are NOT limiting the race entries to 10 - we are only LENDING OUT up to 10 canoes in each class. If you are providing your own canoe - you can enter these mixed events. There is NO LIMIT on entries. As a reminder - the Mixed 40's are scheduled to go down to Honaunau with the women's race, and the Mixed Open will come back up to Kona with the Men's race.

With all the out-of-state registrations we already have confirmed, Kai Opua has reached its limit for canoes available to loan to all of our amazing mainland and international participants. So if you are coming from out-of-state and still have yet to register and pay, you are on a wait list for a canoe. What will get you off the wait list and confirm your entry(s) is for you to be very proactive - right now - to hook up with some other canoe club in Hawaii to rent a canoe. Please use our Queen Liliuokalani blog as one avenue to ask for a canoe, but try every other possibility out there that Hawaii canoe clubs might respond to:

If you are a Hawaii based canoe club, please get your entry in, on-line asap. The sooner you can get your crews organized and canoe shipping booked with Young Bros, the better. Are you in a position to go the extra mile and help out-of state crews get off the wait list? Then please contact us ASAP to let us know that you can ship more canoes than your crews will need for the race weekend. Please do this via our "Contact Us" link and post on our blog that you have a canoe available for rent. Of course this will be either a fundraising opportunity for your club, or Kai Opua will find a way to comp you in exchange for helping us put more international and mainland crews on the water.

Also new in 2016, we have added MIXED Iron Saturday Races to our schedule! But if you require a canoe for the mixed races - you must act fast! We are only loaning out 10 canoes each for the Mixed Open and Mixed Masters (40+) races. Once we have reached that limit, YOU MUST PROVIDE OR SECURE YOUR OWN CANOE FOR THIS RACE. NOTE, THERE IS NO LIMIT OF ENTRIES. There is only a limit on the number of canoes we are lending out.
