Afternoon Practices Resumes

— April 14, 2021 —

Afternoon practices for OC-6 outrigger canoe paddling is tentatively scheduled for April 26 (women) and April 27(men) 2021. Both days at 5 pm (maybe revised).  Plans are to start with 3 canoes and increase hulls based on interest.
We are moving canoes at the KOCC halau on Friday, April 16th at 8 am if anyone is out and about to assist.
Women's Program meeting - Canoe Corral - Kailua-Kona Pier - Monday - April 19th @5:30 pm
Men's Program meeting - Canoe Corral - Kailua-Kona Pier - Tuesday - April 20th @5:30 pm

All interested adult paddlers must be fully paid on their club membership dues prior to stepping into a canoe. Reserving a seat for a practice can only be done on-line on the Kai 'Opua web site and only fully paid members can access the seat reservation page (contact tracing precautions due to COVID to protect your safety).
(Note: - does not apply to Juniors)

Waivers and Code of Conduct (new) must also be completed and submitted to membership. 

Juniors:
Saturday April 17 at 8 am at KOCC halau for junior registrations - male/female 12-18. Please have parent or guardian accompany to process paperwork. Tentative start date will be Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 4 pm for both boys/girls. May be changed to separate days based on participation.

Please go to www.kaiopua.org to pay for membership fees on-line as well as downloading/uploading the HCRA 2021 waiver and Kai 'Opua's Code of Conduct. 

A Long Distance Series is being planned for adults and teens involving incremental distances per week.

To avoid the spread of COVID 19, beach temps performed, face masks and social distancing will be enforced. Canoes and wheel carts sanitized after use. White boxes will not be available for use, hydration attached to body.
