Queen Liliu'okalani L/D Canoe Race and Festivities

Kailua-Kona

The Queen Liliu'okalani L/D canoe race and festival  sponsored by Kai 'Opua Canoe Club will be held on starting Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018 to Monday Sept. 3, 2018.. The festival is a 5 day event starting on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018 with Historic Walking Tour of Kailua-Kona, 4- man canoe race and International Paddler's Night. Friday includes the Royal Splash and Talk Story. Saturday is the Queen Liliu'okalani Long Distance Race for Kailua-Kona pier to Honaunau and the Torch Parade. Sunday events include 1 and 2-man, stand-up, double-hull races and a Hawaiian Luau and finally a Kupuna L/D race on Monday from Kailua-Kona pier to Banyans and back for mixed crews aged 55 and up. . There will be a cultural fair on Saturday and Sunday as well. Merchandise for the event will be sold at the Logo Shop starting on Thursday.
